By staying in one of our holiday homes you agree to our terms and conditions as outlined below:

Privacy Policy

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Under no circumstances will the details of guests be shared amongst individuals nor be distributed to third party organisations without prior consent.

 

Security

Data collected from you while making this booking will be used solely for securing your booking. We use industry-standard encryption technology that handles your sensitive information securely during the booking process. Your transaction will be done through Direct Payment Express which is our secure payment gateway provider Christchurch Holiday Homes, 3 Broadbent St, Riccarton, Christchurch 8041.

 

Payment: There is an additional credit card surcharge, 3% Visa & Mastercard, 3.5% Amex

Booking confirmation:

Bookings are not confirmed until the 10% service fee (deposit) has been paid, this is due at the time you make the booking and is non-refundable.  If you need to cancel before the balance is due which is 14 days before your arrival you may request to use this as a credit for a future booking.  Any credits issued must be used within 12 months.

 

Security Deposit:

We reserve the right to charge a security deposit of up to $1000.00 to your credit card upon confirmation of a booking or within 14 days of your arrival. If paying by bank deposit a bond of $1000.00 will be taken on confirmation of booking. A higher bond may be specified if you have a large number of guests, pets or other special circumstances. This will be refunded within 8-10 days of your departure less any credit card fees.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations by guest within 14 days of arrival date forfeit 100% of the total booking price. The cancellation policy also applies to changes which decrease the overall value of a booking, for example decreasing the number of guests staying or shortening the length of stay.  If you have to cancel your reservation within our 14 day cancellation period due to Covid-19 status changes we will hold any money paid in credit for a future date, this will need to be used with 12 months of the cancellation notification and can be used either partially of fully as part of a future booking with us.

Moving a booking to a future date may be possible. Before cancelling please contact us to discuss this option.

Occasionally houses become unavailable due to a variety of reasons, we reserve the right to move your booking if absolutely necessary . If this happens we will contact you with alternative accommodations options similar to the property you have booked and if these options are not suitable you are welcome to cancel and we will waive cancellation fees.

 

Fair-use Policy:

Unless otherwise stated, the fair and standard use of all utilities & internet is included in the tariff for your stay.

Where unfair or excessive usage occurs the estimated cost of excess usage will be billed to the guest.

Examples of unfair or excessive usage include leaving appliances running for unnecessarily long periods, leaving appliances such as air conditioning or heaters running while a property is unoccupied or while windows/doors are left open.

Guests booked must equal beds and linen used, for example if you have booked for 2 guests and 4 beds are used you will be charged for 2 additional guests at the additional guest fee.  You are also responsible for any damage or linen/beds used for any visiting guests.

Any damage must be reported immediately and any costs will be charged to the booking guest.

 

Internet Usage Policy:

Free WiFi internet is provided at most properties for web browsing and communication.

This service is not provided for heavy streaming or downloading and the viewing or downloading of illegal content is strictly prohibited.

Legal usage – It is the responsibility of the booking guest to ensure that the internet at the property is used for legal and reputable purposes only. If there is any illegal usage, the booking guest will be held fully accountable for this illegal action and any resulting fines, administration & reconnection costs will be charged.

 

Guest Numbers & Responsibilities:

  • No parties or gatherings.
  • No use as a function venue.
  • Booked guests only.
  • No Gang members, this includes visitors.
 

Homes must not be used as party or function venues or sublet in any way. The neighbours are not to be disturbed by excessive noise or numbers of visitors and if reported to us or the council this is considered in breach of our terms.  If a disturbance is reported or any evidence of a party is found the security deposit will be forfeited in full.  

 

If a complaint of excessive noise or anti-social behaviour is received, security will be dispatched to investigate and may result in a $200 call-out charge. This fee will be taken from the guest’s security deposit and is non-negotiable.

 

At the time the report is received, Christchurch Holiday Homes will also determine the severity of the incident and the impact on the property, the community, and the surrounding guests and residents. If the incident and impact is deemed to be severe, all guests at the premises may be evicted from the premises by security without refund of the security fee or bond. This determination is at the sole discretion of management and is non-negotiable.

 

Homes are made available on a per person basis and only for guests that form part of the booking. We reserve the right to charge if you are found to have extra guests staying at the property after 10pm, this is charged at the extra guest fee and a minimum charge of 2 nights apply.

 

The guest booking the home must be over 18 years of age and will be responsible for the conduct of all guests and visitors, any damage and/or additional cleaning that may be required.

 

No pets or business use of the property unless arranged prior to your stay.

 

We reserve the right to request guests to vacate the premises effective immediately if any of the above terms are breached with no refund of unstayed nights or 

 

Please note: Any illegal substances found or illegal activity will be reported to the Police.

 

Extra Amenities:

 

If you require a portacot or highchair please let us know. We can organise this at an additional charge of $65 per item per stay.

 

Guest Responsibilities – on departure:

 

Please note this is a holiday home and should be left in a clean and tidy state in order to avoid additional cleaning charges. Upon departure ensure the following:

 

 – Dishes clean and put away or clean in dishwasher

 

– Linen is to be left on the beds and used towels in the bathroom

 

– Please dispose of any rubbish in the bins/bags provided

 

– Lock all doors, close windows and return keys to lockbox provided leave secure

 

Rubbish: Place your rubbish in the bins outside the house:

 

Yellow lid bin: Recycling – any bottles and newspapers

 

Red lid bin: Any other general rubbish

 

Green lid bin: compostable green waste only (food scraps) absolutely no plastic please

 

 

Absolutely no Smoking at the property :

 

Please do not smoke in or near the house with windows or doors open. Please dispose of your butts in a rubbish bin.  If smoking is detected inside the property a deodorizing fee of $500 will be charged.

 

Extra Charges:

 

You are welcome to make use of the BBQ if available at the property, please remember to clean, this is not included as part of our cleaning reset and will incur extra charges.

 

You have been provided rubbish bags for your stay, there will be an additional minimum charge of $25 for extra bags and excessive rubbish left at the property.

 

We base our cleaning times on the property being left in a tidy state any additional time is charged on an hourly rate of $57.50.  Any extra charges will be taken against the security deposit and balance refunded unless other payments arranged.

 

Keys:

 

Please leave a key in the lockbox if you are out. If you lose the key there is a charge of $50 to have replacement key cut.

 

Lost Property:

 

If you have left any items at the property please contact us as soon as possible with details, we keep found items for 2 weeks then these are donated to a local charity.  If you require an item to be returned and have checked with us that we have located it you have 2 options:

 

  • Send a prepaid and addressed courier bag to our office with details of the item – no charge

or

  • Let us know address and we will organise a quote for the return of the items, you will be charged the cost of postage plus an admin fee of $35 and which needs to be prepaid.
